WARDED AT MIDDLE EAST CAR OF THE YEAR AWARDS (MECOTY) 2017
The world’s leading car brands took centre stage at the recently concluded fourth edition of the Middle East Car of the Year (MECOTY) awards. The night’s leading winner was Audi, with a record breaking win across seven separate categories, in addition to winning the overall Jury COTY, whilst top brands including, Ford, Jaguar, Mercedes, Honda, Toyota, Cadillac, Chevrolet, McLaren Renault, Bentley, Infiniti, KIA and Volkswagen were among the winners announced in an exciting and stunning gala awards night, attended by top officials from all major automotive brands.

The awards were held alongside the second edition of International Motor Show Abu Dhabi and the highly popular 3rd Custom Show Emirates, which concluded recently after attracting over 30,000 visitors from 30 March – 01 April 2017 at ADNEC, Abu Dhabi, UAE.
An extensive panel of judges, comprising 12 expert automotive journalists from nine GCC and Levant countries, awarded Ford’s new Edge the “Compact SUV” title for 2017, with Ford Ranger claiming the “Best Midsize Truck” award. To round off a stellar day, the inimitable compact Ford Figo took the crown for “Best Hatchback”.

Two special awards were also announced, including an award for ‘’Future of Motoring’’ which was handed over to Toyota Prius, this award was to recognise Toyota as they launched a ground breaking vehicle and established the benchmark for the future of clean emission technology. The second special award, ‘’Industry Design Pioneer’’ was given to Land Rover for their uniquely designed Range Rover Evoque Cabrio.
