Countdown begins for the region's biggest automotive awards

MECOTY 2015 to recognise the best vehicles across 18 categories along with the coveted Jury & Public Car of the Year awards which registered over 65,000 votes

All eyes are set on the second edition of the Middle East Car of the Year (MECOTY) Award, the biggest award for the regional automotive industry. Senior executives from the entire industry have confirmed their attendance and are eagerly waiting in anticipation for the final results to be announced in a glittering gala awards night on October 29, 2015 at Raffles, Dubai.

The nominees underwent a stringent selection and testing process that lasted 9 months by a select panel of judges, who are handpicked to represent their respective countries from UAE, Jordan, Lebanon, Qatar, Saudia Arabia, Bahrain & Kuwait.

After a massive response last year, MECOTY once again initiated a month long Public Voting campaign which allowed people to vote for the favourite car and make it win the coveted Public Car of the Year title. The campaign was heavily supported by all manufacturers and registered just over 65,000 individual votes compared 11,260 votes received last year.

The public voting campaign received 5 times the number of votes compared to last year. That's a true testament of MECOTY's reach to the consumers which has increased 500% over the past 12 months.said Roman Gavrilin, Organisers Committee, MECOTY 2015.
